1st Riverlake Scouting

Parents,

Once again this year, the Lions Club (our sponsor) are selling Christmas trees in the weeks leading up to Christmas.  They have asked for our help for 3 weekends on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday.  In return and as they always do, they will make a cash donation to the Group which helps support the program in each of our Beaver, Cub, Scout and Venturer Sections. 

The dates they need us are 3-5 Dec, 10-12 Dec and 17-19 Dec.
 
Tree Lot – The tree lot will be set up in the Sobeys parking lot again this year.  This year we will need 3 youth and 1 Leader or adult to supervise at the tree lot at these times:

• Friday nights from 6-9pm
• Saturdays from 10-1pm, 1-4pm, 4-6:30pm, 6:30-9pm
• Sundays from 10-1pm, 1-4pm, 4-6:30pm

 
Deliveries – We also need assistance with deliveries.  I have found that some parents or friends with access to a truck or light trailer like to do deliveries as a family community service project.  We will only be delivering on the weekends during the following times:

• Friday nights from 7-9pm
• Saturdays from 12-2pm and 5-7pm
• Sundays from 12-2pm and 5-7pm

 
In addition, I always attempt to schedule either a Scout or a Venturer to assist the delivery people with lifting trees.

The Lions Club supports us with significant funding each year so it is important that we help them with their projects in return.  With your help, this will be a success again this year.
